The City of Santa Ana’s 7th Annual Fourth of July Celebration will be taking place on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Centennial Park. This annual event celebrates Independence Day with a festive patriotic program, tasty food, a History Walk, youth sports zone, kids play zone, face painting, children’s opportunity drawing and a spectacular fireworks finale. At 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 29, more than 3,500 individuals will gather at the “From Sea to Shining Sea” Memorial Day service to pay tribute to fallen service members. The 25th annual event will include inspirational speeches from veterans, a performance of the National Anthem by Santa Margarita High freshman Isabelle Freeman, an honor guard, an aerial flyover of World War II-era planes by Memorial Flights, music by OC Sound and the Orange County Concert Band and a white dove release. Five years ago the UCI Symphony Orchestra, led by Maestro Stephen Tucker, adopted the Santa Ana High School (SAHS) Symphony Orchestra. The partnership was designed to build awareness of the university experience to make it a tangible goal for the SAHS students; increase access to arts resources; and cultivate engaged young artists, the Trevor School students, who will become involved citizens in their communities not just in the arts.
For the first time, the UCI Symphony Orchestra will perform a full concert in Santa Ana, continuing the intersection of our two communities for the benefit of both, on Nov. 4, 2016 at 8 p.m. Experience the famous Bill Medley Auditorium, whose namesake is the Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter best known as one-half of The Righteous Brothers and a SAHS alumnus ‘58, to support both schools at this special concert.

The Santa Ana Zoo, “Home of the 50 Monkeys,” will hosts its 64th wild animal birthday celebration this Saturday, March 5th and Sunday, March 6th, 2016 on the Zoo grounds from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Live music and entertainment are included in the cost of general admission.
Throughout the event, children and adults will enjoy miniature train displays by Del Oro Pacific, singing happy birthday, dancing on the lawn, and visiting with the Zoo’s enchanting and playful animals, which now includes a baby anteater, a baby howler monkey, a baby ocelot and a baby sloth. The marvelous Ballet Folkloric will perform and SAZOO, the Zoo’s resident monkey mascot and honorary OC celebrity, will also be on hand to engage, entertain and take photos. Main Street, in Santa Ana.
