On Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 4:16 PM, SAPD Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the 1600 block of West Wisteria Place. Officers located an unresponsive adult male suffering from gunshot wounds on the grass parkway. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics responded, treated, and transported the victim to a local trauma center. The attending physician declared the victim deceased at 5:10 PM. Continue reading

Armando Torreblanca Nunez, a 30-year-old Santa Ana man, ended up pleading guilty today to a felony count of kidnapping for purposes of child molesting just as jury selection was underway, according to NBC News.
The then 4-year old boy in question and his family were at a birthday party at Jerome Park when the family noticed that the boy was missing, at about 8:15 p.m. on July 27, 2016, according to the SAPD. Continue reading
Alan Alberto Flores, 28, was arrested by SAPD police officers today after he allegedly inappropriately touched several girls at a Santa Ana laundromat, according to KTLA News.
Flores was booked on suspicion of attempted kidnapping, child annoyance and sexual battery, according to the SAPD. Continue reading

On Friday, March 3 at about 10 p.m. several residents called in reports of a shooting in the area of 1200 West Brook Street. When officers arrived they located evidence of a shooting but all involved were gone, according to SAPD Case # 17-05818.
A male was parked near the corner of W. Richland and S. Raitt Streets, in Santa Ana, early this morning, just past midnight, when two male suspects walked up to him and a confrontation occurred where the suspects asked about gang affiliation and then proceed to assault the victim, according to SAPD Case number 17-5725.
The suspects fled in a vehicle and the victim followed. One of the suspects exited their car and shot at the victim striking the car only. Continue reading
On Saturday, February 25, 2017, at about 5:30 p.m. SAPD police officers responded to 700 South Townsend Street, just northeast of Jerome Park, after receiving multiple calls of about a shooting. When officers arrived they located a 17 year old Hispanic male with a gunshot wound to the lower body. The victim was taken to a local hospital for his injuries, according to SAPD Case # 17-05222.
The SAPD had a heck of a weekend as a total of five shootings went down on Saturday night. We had previously reported that there had been three shootings. But now that the smoke has cleared the SAPD investigators have increased the violent tally.
Overall six people were shot in Santa Ana on Saturday night. Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna admitted on Sunday that he couldn’t remember hearing about that many shootings in one night, according to the O.C. Register. Continue reading
It was another bloody and violent night in Santa Ana this evening as four men were hurt in three separate shootings, according to the O.C. Register.
The SAPD received a call just before 7 p.m. this evening about shots fired and a possible victim down at the 900 block of South Townsend Street. Sure enough when the police arrived at the scene they found a man who had been shot in his upper torso. The man is now in critical condition at a local hospital. Continue reading

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Two men, who were extradited from Arizona and Illinois, are scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow for the cold case kidnapping and rape of an 11-year-old girl in 1999. Ismael F. Salgado, 36, Chicago, Ill., and Jose Andres Plascencia, 36, Laveen, Ariz., are each charged with one felony count of kidnapping to commit rape and five felony counts of forcible rape with sentencing enhancement allegations for kidnapping. The defendants each face a maximum sentence of 132 years to life in state prison. They are each being held on $1 million bail and are scheduled for a continued arraignment tomorrow, Nov. 18, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, 1999, Plascencia and Salgado are accused of driving up to two preteen girls near Jerome Park in Santa Ana and luring them into their vehicle. The defendants are accused of driving away from the park with the girls. The defendants are accused of maintaining control of 11-year-old Jane Doe after the other girl exited the vehicle.
