Costa Mesa and Santa Ana Police were searching for a man who led officers on a short, high-speed vehicle pursuit early this morning, but got away, according to the O.C. Register.
Costa Mesa police officers tried to pull the suspect over this morning for a vehicle code violation at 2:35 a.m. as he was driving a Honda Accord near the intersection of 17th Street and Newport Boulevard, according to the Costa Mesa police. Continue reading
Yet another police pursuit took place tonight – and ended in Santa Ana. An unidentified man fled from the Garden Grove police at around 9:25 p.m. when they tried to pull him over near the corner of Euclid Street and Garden Grove Blvd., according to the O.C. Register.
The police thought that the car in question might have been stolen. The suspect certainly acted like a criminal as he did not stop when the police asked him to, then he led the police on a chase through the cities of Garden Grove, Anaheim and finally Santa Ana. Continue reading
Our readers alerted us that there was a major SAPD police response yesterday in central Santa Ana. It turned out to be a police pursuit of a suspect who stole a vehicle.
That suspect, an unidentified man in his mid-20’s, was spotted at about 4:15 p.m. in a stolen vehicle near Flower and First St., by SAPD police. A police helicopter then followed the car until the suspect crashed it into a parked vehicle at the 500 block of South Poplar St., according to the O.C. Register. Continue reading
What started out as yet another Santa Ana car theft quickly escalated this afternoon, after several suspects in a stolen car took off when police tried to conduct a traffic stop, at 4:40 p.m. at West 15th and North Durant streets, not far from Willard Elementary School according to the O.C. Register.
When the suspects sped off the police gave chase, to 3rd and Main Streets, where the suspects crashed their stolen Camry into a curb and they may have also hit an electrical box. Continue reading

A suspected car thief got busted on Sunday morning after an SAPD police officer tried to stop a reportedly stolen gray Acura MDX just before 6:40 a.m., as it traveled southbound on South Fairview Street near West McFadden Avenue, according to the O.C. Register.
Of course the suspect refused to stop so the chase was on. The driver took off on West McFadden Ave., for about two miles, before he turned right on South Harmon Street. Then he stopped in a residential neighborhood at around 600 South Harman, and the cops caught him and arrested him on suspicion of possession of stolen property. Continue reading
The California Highway Patrol was in a slow pursuit of a stolen taxi on the northbound 5 and 605 Freeways late Thursday night. The chase began in Santa Ana, and continued after an unsuccessful attempt to use a PIT maneuver to stop the taxi in Anaheim, according to CBS News.
NBC is reporting that the taxi was stolen when the taxi driver stopped at a 7-11 on First and Flower. The cab driver left the taxi unattended with the keys in the ignition. When he left the 7-11 he saw the taxi being driven away by the suspect, who was eventually identified as Hugo Francisco Gonzalez, 25, of Santa Ana.
The chase continued north on the 5 Freeway into the Cities of Buena Park and Norwalk at about 30 miles per hour until the driver decided to turn north on the 605 Freeway. He later passed through Santa Fe Springs and Whittier before taking the 60 Freeway West, towards Los Angeles. Continue reading
A car that was stolen in Santa Ana turned up in Placentia on Monday, at around 11 pm, when police in that area spotted the vehicle near South Angelina Drive and Backs Lane, according to the O.C. Register.
The car thieves were pursued by Placentia police and they ended up crashing into a parked car. They then ran away on foot and one man was caught at the scene while another was found in an apartment that was nearby. Continue reading
Santa Ana police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the 96 Cents Up Store in the 1500 block of West First Street, on Tuesday morning, at around 9:35 a.m., according to the O.C. Register.
A man with a knife not only took the money from the store’s cash register – he also grabbed the keys to the store employee’s 2007 Toyota Highlander, and used it to get away, on West First St. Continue reading
Police were looking for two people who fled from a stolen gray 1999 Honda Civic after a short pursuit in Santa Ana on Tuesday afternoon. The car was reported stolen, at 1:41 p.m. near Tenth Street and Van Ness Avenue (in Ward 5), according to the O.C. Register.
