The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the connector from the northbound (NB) I-5 Freeway to the northbound I-405 Freeway for 57 hours beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, February 23, until 5 a.m. Monday, February 26, weather permitting.

The connector will also be closed the following weekend (March 1–4), weather permitting.

The closure is part of a construction project to rehabilitate pavement on various connectors throughout Orange County. Detour signage will be in place to assist motorists.

Detour Information:

  • Exit northbound I-5 Freeway at Alton Parkway
  • Turn left onto Alton Parkway
  • Turn left onto Irvine Center Drive
  • Veer right onto the northbound I-405 Freeway

Please adhere to all posted signs and traffic instructions for the safety of all workers and motorists. Electronic changeable message signs will notify drivers of the closures. The work schedule is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials, and/or construction-related issues.
