ORANGE COUNTY SHERIFF CALLS LOU CORREA “BEST CHOICE” FOR CONGRESS

Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchins Endorses Lou Correa for CA-46

SANTA ANA, CA— Catapulting his campaign forward with renewed momentum, today former State Senator Lou Correa garnered a milestone endorsement from Orange County’s widely respected top law enforcement officer, and Orange County’s first woman Sheriff — Sandra Hutchens— as he campaigns to represent California’s 46th Congressional District seat.

In announcing her support of Correa’s bid for Congress, Sheriff Hutchens released the following statement:

“Former Senator Lou Correa is the best choice for Congress. He’s battle-tested, determined and has proven his commitment to keeping our communities safe time and again. Lou has fought hard for Orange County, bringing back critical resources for public safety and critically needed social programs that serve the mental health community and others in need. I know he’ll make an effective representative for Orange County in Congress. I’m proud to endorse Lou Correa for Congress.”

Today’s endorsement announcement comes on the heels of a new poll showing Correa with an enormous lead, nearly 30-points ahead of his closest competitor.

The poll, conducted by Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates, is relatively fresh out of the field, and was conducted from December 13th through December 16th. The initial results show Correa with a decisive lead over all other candidates:

  • 37% Lou Correa
  • 5% Joe Dunn
  • 4%* Jordan Brandman
  • 8% Bao Nguyen
  • 12% Adam Nick
  • 1% Other
  • 33% Undecided

After messaging, Correa’s support grows to 43%, while the other candidates’ totals remain nearly unchanged. The memo showed Correa with a net favorability rating more than double that of any other candidate in the race.
