Imagine crashing into a police vehicle? That happened to two people in Santa Ana last night at about 10:10 p.m. as the car they were riding in collided with a California Highway Patrol vehicle at Fourth Street and Cabrillo Park Drive, according to the O.C. Register.
The unfortunate motorcyclist collided with a small car and he was declared to be deceased at the scene by paramedics, according to the O.C. Fire Authority. Continue reading

Homeless Man hit by vehicle
This morning a homeless man crossing the street intersection was struck by a vehicle going east bound on Civic Center Dr and Sycamore St.
A witness named Manny reported that he saw the man get hit by the vehicle and he also said that the victim had minor injuries and complained of pain in his torso. Continue reading
An car got stuck on the median at N. Spurgeon St. and E. 3rd St. this afternoon in Downtown Santa Ana according to community activist Igmar Rodas. He said that he has heard of two other similar incidents including one that involved a motorcycle that hit the median and spun out of control, ultimately crashing into Diego’s.
This time the driver of the unfortunate vehicle just got stuck on top of the median. The owner told Rodas that he was blinded by the sun as he was turning left from East 3rd St. onto North Spurgeon St. Continue reading
An unidentified woman in her 20s ended up at the trauma unit of a local hospital after she crashed her motorcycle into a car on Friday night, at Bristol Street and Santa Clara Ave., in Santa Ana, at 7:45 p.m., according to the O.C. Register.
The woman’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. She is recovering at UCI Medical Center, in stable condition. Continue reading

Luis Torres, a 15-year old student at Century High School, was killed this morning while he was in the back of a 2009 Honda that was pulled over on the shoulder of the southbound 57 Freeway, in Fullerton, according to the O.C. Register.
The crash happened early on Sunday morning, at 1:59 a.m., just north of the Yorba Linda Boulevard off-ramp when Nicole Cortinas, 28, of Moreno Valley swerved a 2015 Honda off the freeway lanes and onto the shoulder, striking the 2009 Honda, according to the CHP. Continue reading
An unidentified man in his 50s was badly hurt after his sport-utility vehicle crashed into a house at the 2100 block of South Greenville Avenue, at W. St. Gertrude Place, in Santa Ana this morning at around 9:40 a.m., according to the O.C. Register.
The man’s bronze Hyundai crashed into the garage portion of the house and the driver ended up at a local hospital, in what was described as serious condition. Continue reading

On 08/17/16 at 12:10 am, an SAPD K-9 officer was driving northbound in the 2400 block of South Bristol Street when he was flagged down by witnesses of a hit and run traffic collision. They directed the officer to a female pedestrian that was lying in the street. The pedestrian was unresponsive. The witnesses indicated that a silver SUV or minivan was northbound in the #1 lane of Bristol Street in front of them when it struck the pedestrian. The vehicle never slowed and continued to the red light at Warner Avenue. Once the red left turn arrow turned to green, the silver vehicle fled the scene westbound on Warner and out of sight. Brian Reyes, a 25-year-old Santa Ana man, was arrested early today on suspicion of driving under the influence after colliding at a 405 freeway on-ramp, nearly hitting a parked car and leading police on a chase, according to the O.C. Register.
To date Rodman has not been cited or arrested, according to the CHP. However the agency did recommend that the OCDA charge Rodman with felony hit-and-run and driving the wrong way on a freeway. Continue reading
