An unidentified man was wounded Wednesday at around 3:45 p.m. in an apparent gang-related shooting that occurred in an alley at the 2100 block of West Myrtle St., according to the O.C. Register.

The shooting victim, a 19-year old Santa Ana man, was shot in his upper torso by a suspect who approached him and two other men as they were smoking marijuana in an alley.

The two other men took the victim to the South Coast Global Medical Center and he was later sent to Orange county Global Medical Center by ambulance.

The victim and the other two men are all documented gangbangers, according to the SAPD. The victim’s name and medical condition were not released by the police.

SAPD police officers found gun shell casings in the alley. However no arrests ensued and no description of the shooter was announced. The incident remains under investigation.

This shooting occurred southwest of Kidworks, which employs Santa Ana City Councilman David Benavides, in Santa Ana’s Ward 5, which is represented by Councilman Juan Villegas.

Two other shootings that occurred on Tuesday were also reported by the SAPD.

On Tuesday, April 11 at about 1 p.m., three males were driving in the area of 500 S. Ross when an unknown suspect shot at them. The victims were not injured but their vehicle was struck multiple times by gunfire, according to SAPD Case # 17-09669.

This shooting occurred south of Santa Ana High School in Santa Ana’s Ward 2, which is represented by Mayor Pro Tem Michele Martinez.

On Tuesday, April 11 at about 9:30 p.m. SAPD police officers responded to calls of a shooting in the area of 200 South Birch. Officers located a female and a male victim in the area that were shot. Both victims had gunshot wounds from a shotgun to the torso, according to SAPD Case # 17-09715.

This shooting occurred a few blocks east of Flower St. Park, in Santa Ana’s Ward 2, which is represented by Mayor Pro Tem Michele Martinez.
