A three-alarm fire broke out early this morning at a commercial building in Santa Ana, at 2720 S. Harbor Blvd.

OCFA firefighters from Engine 77 responded and opted to douse the flames with water cannons mounted on top of four large ladders. Due to the volume of the fire ultimately a defensive strategy was utilized to provide for firefighter safety and protect nearby buildings.

The firefighters have been making progress according to the OCFA.

The businesses located in that building include JEM Remodel and Construction; ACE Hybrid Group, which stores and sells lithium batteries for electric vehicles; Reichert’s Real Estate and Business Signs; and a WaBa Grill restaurant.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. OCFA Fire Investigators are at the scene.

No injuries were reported.

The OCFA was assisted by the SAPD, Costa Mesa Fire and Fountain Valley Fire.
