Are those chocolate chips or something else

The OC Health Care Agency has released a list of the eateries (including restaurants, caterers and even school kitchens) that they inspected and shut down for the week of May 4 – May 11, 2018. Most of these eateries reopen pretty quickly after the health inspectors determine their issues have been resolved. Here is the list:

  • Tacos Y Birria El Guero, 1018 E. Sycamore St., suite 102, Anaheim, Closed: May 4, Reason: Cockroach infestation. The facility was cooking and selling food from a cart on weekend nights. Manager was told to discontinue this practice.
  • Texas Pit BBQ, 24601 Raymond Way, Lake Forest, Closed: May 10, Reason: Operating without a valid health permit
  • CVS Pharmacy, 17136 Magnolia St., Fountain Valley, Closed: May 10, Reason: Rodent infestation,
  • Pizza Corner, 580 S. Brea Blvd., Brea, Closed: May 10 (report), Reason: Cockroach infestation
  • Donut Star, 22331 El Toro Road, suite D, Lake Forest, Closed: May 10, Reason: Operating without a valid health permit
  • Orange Liquor Mini-Mart, 511 W. Chapman Ave., Anaheim, Permit downgraded: May 10, Reason: Insufficient hot water, plumbing in disrepair, Permit downgraded to allow sale of pre-packaged food only.
  • Kimmie’s Coffee Cup, 2099 E. Orangethorpe Ave., Placentia, Closed: May 9, Reason: Cockroach infestation, failure to comply with notice of violation, This facility was closed April 11 due to roach infestation and evidence of rodent activity, then allowed to reopen April 12 after an inspector determined the problem had been corrected. A notice of violation was issued April 18. After May 9 re-inspection, facility ordered to remain closed at least seven days due to repeated vermin-related closures.
  • Steer Inn, 444 N. Lakeview Ave., Anaheim, Closed: May 8, Reason: Cockroach infestation, Reopened: May 10, after second re-inspection
  • Ruby Thai Kitchen, 1001 The Shops at Mission Viejo, space VC01, Mission Viejo, Closed: May 8, Reason: Cockroach infestation
  • Wok N Tandoor, 1948 N. Tustin St., Orange, Closed: May 8, Reason: Insufficient hot water.
  • Our City Bagelry, 1225 E. Yorba Linda Blvd., Placentia, Closed: May 8, Reason: Cockroach infestation
  • Powers Liquor Store, 1888 Placentia Ave., Costa Mesa, Closed: May 7, Reason: Cockroach infestation
  • Tito’s Burritos, 23591 Rockfield Blvd., suite G, Lake Forest, Reason: Cockroach infestation
