The 2013 OC Fair Celebrates Orange County Communities with “Summer In The Cities” Promotion

Costa Mesa, Calif. (June 28, 2013) – The OC Fair is celebrating the spirit of the community with its new Summer In the Cities programming, which includes local entertainment, exhibits and discounts for residents.

On specific days, representatives and residents from cities in Orange County will lead Fairgoers in a Community Flag Salute and singing of the National Anthem at 12:30 p.m. in front of The Hangar. Also, residents of the featured city can enjoy discounted Fair admission with their Summer In the Cities coupon, available at their local city hall or library.

The 2013 OC Fair Summer In the Cities schedule is:

July 17: San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, San Clemente
July 18: Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita
July 19: Anaheim
July 24: Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Laguna Niguel
July 25: Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, Stanton
July 26: Santa Ana
July 31: Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Fountain Valley
August 1: Garden Grove, Westminster
August 2: Fullerton, Buena Park, La Palma, Cypress
August 7: Yorba Linda, Placentia, Brea, La Habra
August 8: Irvine, Aliso Viejo
August 9: Orange, Villa Park, Tustin

Additionally, the OC Fair will be celebrating hometown heroes with the U.S. Army Day on July 26. The daily festivities will open with a rousing parade lead by the U.S. Army’s Marching Band, a Future Soldier Swearing-in Ceremony accompanied by a performance by the U.S. Army Color Guard, performances by the U.S. Army’s Ska and Classic Rock bands and exhibits and displays with various military equipment, Army Reserve Unit items and more.

In celebration of all of Orange County, the OC Fair will feature a nightly multimedia presentation at The Hangar, located in the Main Mall. The free-with-admission presentation will include a spectacular photo array of images, many submitted by Orange County residents, shown on a 40-foot screen and set to music and pyrotechnics.

The 2013 OC Fair, themed Come & Get It,is July 12 – August 11 and brings 23 days of food, rides, exhibits, animals, music, action sports and fun, as well as the Toyota Summer Concert Series at the Pacific Amphitheatre, The Hangar and Action Sports Arena. The Fair is open Wednesday-Sunday. Concert tickets, action sports reserved seats and single-day general admission are available for purchase online at ticketmaster.com or from the on-site Box Office. The popular Super Pass, which offers the passholder 23 days of admission, is available for purchase online at ocfair.com from the onsite Box Office.
