Santa Ana’s The Priority Center is hosting their annual “adopt-a-family” holiday program, “Families Helping Families” on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at 15362 Graham Street, in Huntington Beach.
Families Helping Families is The Priority Center’s annual event that benefits families supported by The Priority Center’s life-changing programs. The program culminates with a drive-through distribution event, in which families with transportation capabilities come to their partner’s Huntington Beach warehouse to receive gifts. This is a private event for the clients of The Priority Center.
More than 95% of children and families receiving The Priority Center services live below the federal poverty level. As such, the holidays can be a stressful and challenging time for them. Their annual program finds compassionate donors to fulfill our children’s holiday wish lists and provide their parents with retail gift cards to purchase the family’s greatest needs. In many cases, the only holiday gifts our families receive come through Families Helping Families. This year The Priority Center will be able to bring holiday cheer to nearly 275 children and families!

Established in 1983, The Priority Center (formerly the Child Abuse Prevention Center of Orange County) serves at-risk adults, families, and children in crisis to prevent and break the generational cycle of trauma and abuse. The center matches individuals and families at risk of trauma with professional caseworkers who work with them directly through telemedicine health services during the pandemic. The Priority Center also works with adolescents and adults in crisis who need intervention services dealing with mental illness and suicidal ideations.
The mission is to deliver life-changing programs to assist individuals in crisis by giving them the tools and support necessary to end the generational cycle of trauma, which includes prevention of child abuse and neglect.
The Priority Center is located at 1940 E. Deere Ave., in Santa Ana.
