The Irvine Police Department addressed the media today about numerous storage unit burglaries at a facility located at Alton Parkway and Jamboree Road. (Editor’s Note – this appears to be Public Storage, located at 17052 Jamboree Rd.)

The business is in the process of contacting the owners of the units that were broken into. Detectives are actively investigating this crime and are working with the facility to gather evidence.

Here are some tips from the Irvine Police Department to increase the safety of your storage unit:

  • Use a disc-style lock
  • Insure the contents of your locker
  • Collectibles and items of significant value should not be stored in storage lockers
  • Ask the storage facility about their security measures
  • Report any suspicious behavior to the police
