Santiago Park burglary suspect

A brazen burglar stole a security camera right off a home in Santa Ana’s Park Santiago Neighborhood on February 9, but the camera caught his image and now the home owner is hopeful that someone will recognize the suspect.

The suspect was wearing a hooded poncho, khaki pants and black work boots. The video camera was tucked up in a corner and was not visible from the street. Unfortunately it used a magnetic mounting system and was as such easy to steal.

The suspect has been seen by the 5 freeway entrance on 17th and Santiago.

Homeless people are often seen hanging around the Santiago Creek on both sides of North Main St. It is expected that more of them will locate there after many of them were recently driven from the Santa Ana River by the County of Orange.

This incident occurred in Ward 3 which is represented by Councilman Jose Solorio.
