If you thought you heard a police pursuit in Santa Ana yesterday evening you were right. Two males, one adult and one juvenile, sped off during a routine traffic stop, at 5:20 p.m. and led police on a pursuit that ended in their arrest, according to the O.C. Register.
Robert Weirick, a 35-year-old man, was arrested at a storage facility on Wednesday morning, Jan. 31, on suspicion of stealing a $10,000 bicycle and a car – which, officials said, he used to ram two police vehicles, according to the O.C. Register.
Weirick drew the attention of the Irvine Police Department when he allegedly stole a high-end bicycle. The Irvine Police got a tip on Wednesday morning that Weirick was in a stolen vehicle. Continue reading
You might have heard a commotion last night, Dec. 28, with police helicopters and lots of sirens, at the 5 Freeway. Turns out it was a police pursuit that led to the arrest of three men, according to the O.C. Register.
The incident began at around 8:20 p.m. when Fullerton police officers tried to pull over the suspects as they were driving a Dodge Ram truck, for a vehicle registration violation. This prompted the suspects to flee – and one of them three a handgun out of the window of the vehicle. Continue reading
Three people in a stolen car were arrested Friday night, Dec. 15, after a police pursuit that began in Santa Ana and ended near Corona, according to the O.C. Register.
SAPD police officers tried to pull over a stolen Nissan Sentra near the intersection of Broadway and Cubbon St. just before 9 p.m. on Friday night, but the suspects sped off staring a pursuit that proceeded north on the 5 Freeway and then East on the 91 Fwy. Continue reading
The SAPD had their hands full on Friday night, Dec. 8, when they arrested Leoncio Gutierrez, a suspect thought to be on drugs who was driving on the wrong side of the road when he ran a red light and crashed into two cars – all while he was fleeing from the police, according to the O.C. Register.
The pursuit happened as the SAPD was responding to a commercial burglary on South Lyon St. A witness had reported seeing 80 suspects breaking into a building. Apparently there was a rave going on nearby. Continue reading
Daniel Enrique Ramirez, 24, of Santa Ana; and Joshua Rudy Ramirez, 21, of Corona, pleaded guilty to gang activity, eluding police and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the O.C. Register.
Both men were sentenced to eight years in prison after they led the SAPD on a high-speed pursuit that began in Santa Ana and ended when they crashed into an 80-year-old woman’s bedroom in Fountain Valley. Continue reading
An unidentified lone male driver who led authorities on a vehicle chase through Santa Ana and drove the wrong way on the 55 Freeway on Saturday, Nov. 11 was taken into custody without incident, according to the O.C. Register.
As often happens in Santa Ana the SAPD tried to pull the suspect over, as he was driving a gold-colored minivan, for a traffic violation that occurred at South Grand and East McFadden Avenues, just before 4:30 p.m., according to the SAPD. Three people were arrested Thursday, Nov. 9, following a high-speed police pursuit that began in Fountain Valley and ended in Huntington Beach, according to the O.C. Register.

On Wednesday, September 13th at 4:43 a.m. hours, our officers attempted to stop a vehicle that was just stolen from the victim’s driveway in the area of Hazard and Jackson. The suspect, Alfredo Hernandez, 38-years old, led our officers in a brief pursuit that covered a little more than a mile to the area of N. Hawley and W. 5th Street. An unidentified man suspected of driving a stolen car and leading SAPD police officers on a chase, crashed into two cars before being arrested yesterday, according to the O.C. Register.
SAPD police officers tried to pull over the suspect on Wednesday afternoon, at around 4:50 p.m., on August 2, as he was driving a Jaguar. He was suspected of a traffic violation near the cross streets of S. Bristol Street and W. Warner Avenue, according to the SAPD. Continue reading
An unidentified man reportedly ran from SAPD police officers, after a car crash, and jumped over several fences while holding a baby in his arms, before he abandoned the baby and hid in a house, according to the O.C. Register.
Juan Rodriguez, a 43-year-old man from Costa Mesa, was killed and his 9-year-old daughter was critically injured in Santa Ana when their car crashed during a police pursuit this Sunday, July 23, according to the O.C. Register.
SAPD police officers responded when they got a call about a man pointing a gun at a security guard during a fight at Mariscos Hector #2, located at 1208 E. McFadden, at Standard Avenue, according to the SAPD. Continue reading
Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Santa Ana police tried to stop a vehicle for various violations including no license plate and no seatbelts, according to NBC News.
The driver, a documented gang member who was later identified as Jesus Arturo Martinez, refused to pull over so the police began to pursue his vehicle on local streets at speeds that topped 90 mph. At one point the suspect even drove the wrong way on the street, according to the SAPD. Continue reading
Auto Theft Suspects Arrested after Pursuit

Today, at 10:04 AM, Riverside PD’s air unit, Air-1, alerted Corona Police Dispatch to a pursuit of a stolen Honda Civic in the area of Hidden Valley and I-15. Corona units took over the pursuit of the Civic, which had been reported stolen to Buena Park Police earlier today, when it exited the 91 freeway at Main Street.
The driver, a 17 year-old male from Santa Ana, and the passenger, a 19 year-old male from Orange, were taken into custody without incident when the Civic stopped on Lilac Street near Via Santiago. Continue reading
Two men were attested by the SAPD on Monday afternoon, while the rest of us were enjoying the Memorial Day holiday, after they were pulled over and three guns were found in their car, according to the O.C. Register.
The police officers spotted the suspects, who were in a silver Nissan Sentra that was believed to have been carjacked last week, at about 4:30 p.m., at the 600 block of North Lacy St., near Garfield Elementary School, according to the SAPD.
