Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do, who represents the First District (which includes Santa Ana) will be speaking at the next meeting of the Communication Linkage Forum (Com-Link) about the County’s effort to address homelessness in our city and in the County.

COLLABORATION BETWEEN LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO HOST “AN EVENING WITH THE CANDIDATES,” A FORUM AND DEBATE FOR THE SANTA ANA VOTERS
Santa Ana, CA- Connect-to-Council, Com-Link, NeighborWorks Orange County, Delhi Center and Latino Health Access will collaborate in hosting a candidates’ forum and debate for the Santa Ana voters. This will take place at the Delhi Center on September 21, 2016.
The candidates have been invited to participate in a council candidate forum moderated by Com-Link and then a mayoral candidate debate will immediately follow, moderated by Connect-to-Council. Continue reading
The Santa Ana Communication Linkage Forum (“Com-Link”) strives to promote positive leadership, community participation, unity and pride in all neighborhoods by improving the quality of life in Santa Ana “block-by-block.” The Board of Com-Link established the Neighborhood Hero Award in 1998 to honor those individuals who have shown commitment and enthusiasm in bettering the quality of life in their neighborhoods.
On Thursday, June 25, 2015, I had the great pleasure of participating with the Board of Com-Link to celebrate and recognize 17 Neighborhood Heroes and 27 winners of the Most Beautiful Yard Program at the Bowers Museum. SANTA ANA, CA (September 16, 2014) – The public is invited to attend the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 as the Mayor and City Council will recognize Communication Linkage Forum (also known as Com-Link) in honor of their 25th Anniversary.
Com-Link was founded in 1989 when a small group of residents met together with the idea that somehow there should be a way of strengthening communication and engagement among neighborhoods, residents, businesses and city departments. Continue reading
Sad news to report. Longtime Com Link member and Santa Ana neighborhood activist Rita Corpin, a 72-year-old , was discovered by her gardener around 11 p.m. Tuesday on the porch of her home in the 1400 block of South Rosewood Avenue in Santa Ana, police said, according to CBS News.
Corpin retired in 2010 from decades of teaching world history at La Quinta High School in Westminster, according to the OC Register. Corpin was not hurting for money. She retired with an annual pension of $120K per year, according to an online source.
I spoke to Santa Ana Planning Commissioner Sean Mill about Corpin’s death. Mill recalled that she was actually one of his teachers. Former Santa Ana City Manager and Police Chief/Commissioner Paul Walters picked up two more awards last week. He was honored at the Com Link meeting, where he spoke to a packed house to the folks he worked so hard to keep safe, for so many years.
They awarded him with a nice plaque and a certificate. Best of all though was the opportunity for Santa Ana’s residents to say goodbye to Walters – who was tossed by a City Council that has proven this year to be petty and ridiculous. Continue reading

Dear Neighborhood Leader:
I would like to invite you to the next Com-link meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 26, at 7:00 pm in the Santa Ana Police Department Community Room.
The main topic at the meeting will be presented by SAPD Sergeant Lorenzo Carrillo on Gang Enforcement in the Santa Ana neighborhoods. Sergeant Carrillo will also be discussing the effect of the current injunction as well as the general level of gang activity.
Administrative Chief / Fire Marshal Lori Smith from the SAFD will talk about their plans to address fireworks in 2011. Will Hayes, Maintenance Service Manager, of the Public Works Agency will be discussing the new contractor for graffiti removal. Councilmember Sal Tinajero will be addressing the meeting as part of our “Meet a Councilmember Series” and we will be recognizing David Ream, Santa Ana’s long time retiring City Manager.
As you can see we have a full agenda and look forward to seeing you at the meeting. The general Com-link meeting is open to all neighbors in the City of Santa Ana. We would like see at least one representative for each Neighborhood Association (NA). Remember the purpose of Com-link is supply you with information to be given out to your neighborhood. This cannot be done if your NA is not represented.
