The O.C. Health Care Agency has released a list of the eateries (including restaurants, caterers and even school kitchens) that they inspected and shut down for the weeks of Feb. 24 to March 4. Most of these eateries reopen pretty quickly after the health inspectors determine their issues have been resolved.

  • Karl Straus Brewing Co., 901 S. Coast Drive, Suite A, Costa Mesa, Closed: Feb. 25, Reason: Rodent infestation, Reopened: Feb. 26
  • Subway, 1140 W. La Veta Ave., Suite 3, Orange, Closed: March 2, Reason: Insufficient hot water, Reopened: March 2
  • J Sushi, 352 S. Main St., Orange, Closed: March 1, Reason: Cockroach infestation, Reopened: March 2
  • Food sales at Dollar Tree, 3343 E. Chapman Ave., Orange, Closed: Feb. 24, Reason: Employee restrooms nonfunctional, Reopened: Feb. 25
  • Pasta Party at 124 E. Lincoln Ave., Orange, which was ordered closed Feb. 18 because of a rodent infestation, was allowed to reopen Feb. 19.
  • Update: UOC Seafood Restaurant at 14271 Brookhurst St., Garden Grove, which was ordered closed Feb. 23 because of a cockroach infestation, was allowed to reopen Feb. 28.
  • Moon Bay, 20048 Santa Ana Ave., Costa Mesa, Closed: March 1, Reason: Rodent infestation, Reopened: March 3
  • Ralphs, 17605 Harvard Ave., Irvine, Closed: March 1, Reason: Insufficient hot water, Reopened: March 1
  • Food Mart at Shell station, 2331 E. Katella Ave., Anaheim, Closed: March 1, Reason: Rodent infestation, Reopened: March 2
  • Star Burger, 1770 S. Harbor Blvd., Suite 132, Anaheim, Closed: Feb. 28, Reason: Insufficient hot water, Reopened: Feb. 28
  • Harbor Mexican Cafe, 1462 S. Harbor Blvd., La Habra, Closed: March 2, Reason: Cockroach infestation, Reopened: March 3
  • Johnny’s The Bronx Pizza, 30012 Crown Valley Parkway, Suite L, Laguna Niguel, Closed: Feb. 25, Reason: Rodent infestation, Reopened: Feb. 26
  • A kitchen at Crystal Hall, 2660 W. La Palma Ave., Anaheim, which was ordered closed Feb. 24 because of a cockroach infestation, was allowed to reopen Feb. 26.
  • Pierside at 610 Avenida Victoria, San Clemente, which was ordered closed Feb. 22 because of a rodent infestation, was allowed to reopen Feb. 24.
  • GuacAmigos at 2607 W. Pacific Coast Highway, Newport Beach, which was ordered closed Feb. 20 because of sewage overflow, was allowed to reopen Feb. 21.
  • Sheng Shui Fish And Rice Noodles at 20651 Lake Forest Drive, Suite A-102, Lake Forest, which was ordered closed Feb. 18 because of sewage overflow, was allowed to reopen Feb. 20.
