Last night, police officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of S. Towner St. due to a domestic violence report, according to the SAPD.

Officers learned the suspect, later identified as Edgar Orozco (20), had brandished a firearm at multiple family members inside the residence. Several family members were able to evacuate the residence however, Orozco refused to exit with his girlfriend and child.

SAPD’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) and Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT) responded to assist patrol officers. After a standoff, SWAT and CNT personnel were able to intervene, rescuing the victims and arresting Orozco.

Orozco was booked at the Santa Ana Jail for several offenses including assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, and possession of a firearm.
