The Boys & Girls Club Orange County Youth of the Year awards took place on March 8th at the Hilton in Irvine.

The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana was proud to be represented at this event by our 2012 Youth of the Year, Carlos Flores.

Carlos is a senior at Santa Ana High School and a member of JROTC; dressed in his uniform for the evening, Carlos demonstrated his pride in his school, the JROTC program, and his goal of serving his country in the armed forces.

Eight finalists were selected from Orange County Clubs; each candidate gave a speech to a panel of judges and then answered various questions on stage in front of an audience of over 200 guests.

Carlos and his family were joined by BGCSA Staff, Board Member Anne MacPherson West, PIMCO Foundation Board Member Candice Stack, and Sara Garske from First Foundation Advisors.

The evening was a wonderful tribute to the extraordinary youth who represent Boys & Girls Clubs throughout Orange County and a proud moment for our Club to stand behind Carlos Flores and watch him shine.
