Sup. Andrew Do Hosts Garden Grove Community Coffee

Seeks to Make Orange County More Accessible, Enhance Civic Participation

(Garden Grove, California)— What can Orange County do for you? That’s the question Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do will be asking his constituents at a free community coffee event in Garden Grove later this month.

“I’m committed to making sure that Orange County offers the highest level of service to our taxpayers,” said Supervisor Andrew Do, who represents the First District on the Orange County Board of Supervisors. “We need county policies that support Orange County taxpayers and small businesses.”

On January 27, Supervisor Andrew Do will meet with his constituents from 8AM to 10AM at Marie Callender’s in Garden Grove. The event is the first in a series of small group meetings to gain input from his constituents and enhance civic participation in Orange County.

“For many people, it can be overwhelming – even intimidating – to interact with government bureaucracies,” said Supervisor Andrew Do. “When a problem arises, many people don’t know where to start. I want my constituents to know that their first call can always be to my office.”

In addition to aiding his constituents with government agencies, Supervisor Andrew Do says the event gives residents the chance to share their ideas for streamlining county government and modernizing county operations.

“Orange County’s greatest resources are our entrepreneurs, small business owners and community volunteers,” said Supervisor Andrew Do. “We need their input for how to run the county better.”

Across the globe, governments are increasingly “crowdsourcing” the legislative process. New York University’s GovLab Project has led the way in using open data to address civic problems, while Finland has crowdsourced rules for off-road vehicles.

To RSVP, call Supervisor Andrew Do at 714-834-3110 or visit FirstDistrictNews.com.

A former Orange County prosecutor, Supervisor Andrew Do represents the First District communities of Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Midway City, Santa Ana and Westminster.

Event Info: Coffee with Supervisor Andrew Do. Free and open to the public from January 27 from 8AM to 10AM at Marie Callender’s in Garden Grove, located at 13252 Brookhurst St.
