OCDA TO HOST INFORMATION BOOTH AT CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND TO CELEBRATE MEXICAN HERITAGE

SANTA ANA – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) is proud to participate in the 13th Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration this Saturday, May 5, 2012, starting at noon. This family festival will be held in downtown Santa Ana on 4th Street between Main Street and French Street.

The 2012 Cinco de Mayo Celebration is in honor of Mexican heritage and pride and will feature live music and performances, games and prizes, food, art and culture vendors, and exhibitors from local businesses, government, and law enforcement agencies. Each year, over 150,000 people attend the festivities.

In order to encourage community participation in law enforcement and community awareness regarding public safety, the OCDA Government and Community Relations Unit will host booth 29, located between Spurgeon Street and Bush Street. They will be speaking with visitors and handing out information in English and Spanish. The resource materials will cover information regarding victims’ rights, crime prevention, the criminal justice system, the negative consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, identity theft, and domestic violence.
