(Dec. 11, 2025) On Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Detail (SVD) investigators arrested Cameron Taylor Heath, 39, following an investigation into allegations of child s*xual abuse involving a male victim who was 12 to 13 years old at the time of the reported incidents.
In early October 2025, deputies responded to a call for service. During the follow-up investigation, it was discovered that several years earlier, the victim was s*xually abused by the family’s bible study group leader, Heath.
During the course of the investigation, SVD investigators learned that Heath was actively involved in several community and faith-based organizations. He served as a member of Generations Church in Placentia, owned and operated (2010-2012) the “Action Kids” youth fitness center in Placentia, led a bible study group known as “The Branch”, and was the founder and president of “Deed and Truth Ministries”, a San Diego–based non-profit supporting orphanages in Baja California.
Heath was booked into Orange County Jail for PC 288(a) L*wd and L*scivious Act with a minor under 14 years of age.
Due to Heath’s access to minors, SVD investigators believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information, or anyone who believes they may have been a victim, is urged to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Detail at 714-647-7419 or 714-647-7000. Anonymous tips may also be submitted to Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
A conviction for a l*wd or l*scivious act with a minor under 14 years of age (Penal Code 288(a) in California) is a felony offense and a “strike” under the state’s Three Strikes law, which carries severe, long-lasting penalties.
The potential penalties for the suspect, Cameron Taylor Heath, if convicted, include:
- State Prison Sentence: Imprisonment in a state prison for a term of three, six, or eight years. A judge will determine the specific term based on aggravating or mitigating factors in the case.
- Fines: A potential fine of up to $10,000.
- S*x Offender Registration: A mandatory requirement to register as a s*x offender under Penal Code 290 for at least 20 years (Tier 2 for a first conviction).
- Probation: While possible in some PC 288(a) cases, probation is only granted under “special and unusual circumstances” and requires a mental health evaluation.
- Additional Consequences: Other repercussions can include the loss of professional licenses, loss of the right to own a firearm, immigration consequences, and potential civil lawsuits from the victim.
If the prosecution can prove that force or violence was used (PC 288(b)(1)) or that the acts were continuous (PC 288.5), the penalties would be significantly increased, potentially leading to a much longer or even life prison sentence.
