A pollice pursuit left one person dead and another two injured following a crash after police tried to conduct a routine traffic stop on Tuesday night in the Tustin area, according to the O.C. Register.

The suspects caught the attention of an O.C. Deputy Sheriff’s unit who tried to stop their SUV, described as a White Infiniti, for a code violation. But the driver sped off and the Deputies lost their vehicle after 11 p.m.

The Tustin Police later came across the vehicle, which had crashed into a tree at Chestnut Avenue and Lyon Street in Santa Ana. The SUV had apparently been speeding when they hit a dip in the street and lost control of the vehicle.

OCFA firefighters found three people in the SUV – and one had died in the crash.

The firefighters labored for a long time to get the others out of the destroyed vehicle. They were hospitalized in critical condition.
