Car split almost in two after hitting a traffic signal pole in Irvine

On Friday morning, at 1:03 a.m., a vehicle collided with a traffic signal pole at Modjeska and Still Night, just north of Irvine Blvd., according to the Irvine Police Department.

Police officers rapidly responded to the scene with their Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) partners.

They quickly rescued the driver from the vehicle and transported him to the hospital.

The driver was seriously injured, and the police officers’ thoughts are with him during his recovery.

The police did not release the driver’s name. The car he was driving was a white sports car.
