They say that police often reflect who their leaders are and if that is true then we need to start pondering what is going on at the Santa Ana Police Department. Surveillance video caught three Santa Ana police officers beating the heck out of a meth addict and suspected burglar, who according to witnesses was on the ground and not resisting at the time.
About 30 showed up to protest the Santa Ana Police Department. They question whether the 5 deadly police shootings in the city this year were justified. “We want to let Santa Ana Police know that they are out of control and that we want them to stop killing the citizens of Santa Ana. This is the 5th person they’ve killed in their city this year,” said Terri Teramura, a local activist, according to Fox News.
But a security guard, who wished to remain unidentified, told CBS News, that on July 12—two weeks before Hans Kevin Arellano was shot once in the chest in a shopping center parking lot during a confrontation with a female veteran officer—he got into a physical altercation with the suspect outside of Northgate Market on Harbor Boulevard. Protesters demanding “Justice for victims of Police brutality and murders” will be speaking out at the offices of the Orange County District Attorney on Monday, July 22, 2013, from 9 am to 12 noon.
They are demanding a stop to:
- Killer cops
- the unilateral gang enhancement
- sentencing minors as adults
- and the continuing crimalization of youth of color

A National Day of Action against Police Brutality is set for this Saturday, Oct. 22, at 12 noon, in Santa Ana, at the corner of Bristol and McFadden. The event will include a march.
