This month’s segment of the SAPD’s “For the Record: A Homicide Spotlight” highlights the murder of Jaime Alberto Villacorta.

On June 9, 2011, Jaime Villacorta was working as a uniformed security guard, assigned to patrol the apartment complexes in the 1400 block of South Townsend Street.

A couple minutes before midnight, the Santa Ana Police Department Communications Center received a 911 call of shots fired.

Upon officers arrival, Villacorta was found in the west alley with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Homicide Detective Moroyoqui at (714) 245-8390. Due to the nature of this case, it qualifies for the Gang Homicide Reward program where individuals could receive up to $50,000 for information regarding Jaime Villacorta’s murder.
