The New Year is barely underway and we already have the first murder of the year to report here in Santa Ana.

On Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 6:46 p.m., Santa Ana Police officers responded to a call of a deceased male inside the residence located in the 1800 block of W. 18th Street.

Officers located a male down in the living room area with significant trauma to his upper torso.  

Orange County Fire Authority responded and pronounced the subject deceased. SAPD Homicide Detectives responded and assumed the investigation.
 
The circumstances surrounding the male’s death are currently being investigated. 

The identity of the male remains unknown pending identification by the Orange County Coroner’s Office.   

Detectives are attempting to identify and locate any witnesses who can shed light on this incident.

This murder occurred south of Riverview Park just north of Boy’s Hamburgers.
