Last Friday, May 31, 2024, police officers were dispatched to a bicycle theft in the area of Chapman Ave. and Valley View St., according to the Garden Grove Police Department.

Initially, neither the bicycle nor the suspect were located. The following day, the same officers were patrolling the area when they spotted the stolen bike about two miles from the initial theft. They surveilled the bicycle until a male subject was seen getting on the bike. He was taken into custody, and the property was returned to the victim.

During the subsequent investigation, officers were able to link the suspect to the theft from the previous day. He was arrested, booked in Orange County Jail, and charged with theft and possession of stolen property.

The Garden Grove Police Department extended a big “thank you” to the surrounding businesses for their help with the investigation.
