Spooky Season and Fall events in Santa Ana

Summer is gone, but the chills are just beginning…get ready to trade sunshine for shadows because Spooky Season is here. Let the haunting fun begin! The City of Santa Ana has several FREE events going on towards the end of this month in celebration of Halloween and Día de los Muertos! So get your costumes and face make up ready because these events are some you sure don’t want to miss out on… register by clicking the links below!

Experience the vibrant spirit of Día de los Muertos and make your own “calaverita!”

Kids ages 6-12 are invited to join us for our Los Muralitos Art Club: Sugar Skull Workshop at Salgado Center. Create stunning, colorful sugar skulls that honor tradition and celebrate the life of our passed loved ones on October 18 and 25 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. ! All sugar skulls will be featured on our Salgado Center alter during our November 1st gallery night, so be sure to stop by and check it out!

Join the Knowledge Mobile every Saturday in October at the parking lot across from the Main Library for a Sbooky Quest! Each week will feature different Halloween craft quests!

The next event is coming up on October 19 at the Main Library. Learn how to apply special effects makeup for Halloween, from 12 noon to 2 p.m.

Spooktacular Open House at the Jerome Center on October 19, from 2 – 5 p.m.

Join us at the Jerome Center’s Spooktacular Open House for a frightfully fun time! All community members are encouraged to dress in their best Halloween costumes for a chance to win the costume contest, to enjoy trick-or-treating, and brave the haunted house. Wildwing from our title level partner the Anaheim Ducks will be making a special appearance. What better way to kick off Halloween season than with candy, fun, and frights? Pumpkin Painting

Halloween Horrors at Frida Cinema

Join us for Halloween Horrors at Frida Cinema on Saturday, October 26 from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., hosted by Santa Ana’s Teen Excursion Program!

Día de los Muertos: Magic of the Altars at the Roosevelt – Walker Community Center, November 1st from 5 – 7:30 p.m.

The fun continues even after Halloween! Join us at the Roosevelt-Walker Community Center on November 1 from 5 – 7:30 p.m. for Dia de los Muertos: Magic of the Altars. This special event honors the lives of those who have passed with a beautiful altar, offerings, traditional face painting, snacks, games, and more! All ages are welcome to come celebrate, pay respects to loved ones, and enjoy the festivities. Plus, don’t miss special appearances by our title sponsor, the Anaheim Ducks, and Project Kinship.
