Firefighters from OCFA Battalion 9, serving the City of Santa Ana, along with Battalion 11 responded to the area of Fairview St and MacArthur Bl for a traffic collision this afternoon.

The fire crews found one car that had lost control and crashed into a tree, and overturned.

Firefighter Paramedics from Engine 77 and Truck 76 worked seamlessly to stabilize the vehicle while initiating an assessment of the woman who was trapped inside the vehicle.

Once they had her extricated utilizing the “Jaws of Life”, the paramedics continued care. The patient was transported to the hospital for further care.

The cause of the accident was being investigated by the Santa Ana Police Department.
