New Principals Appointed at Secondary Schools

SANTA ANA, CA — February 3, 2011 – Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) this week has announced three new principal appointments at the secondary level. Adrian Ayala has been named the new Principal of Lathrop Intermediate School and Ignacio Muñiz has become the new Principal of McFadden Intermediate School. In a reorganization of the alternative schools program, Lisa Hinshaw will serve as Principal of several schools including Chavez High School, Lorin Griset Academy, Community Day School and the Independent Study Program.

Ayala was promoted to principal after serving as the Director of Learning for Carr Intermediate School. Previous to that he was Assistant Principal of Lathrop Intermediate School.

Muñiz spent the last four and a half years as Assistant Principal of McFadden Intermediate School before being promoted to his current role. He replaces Hinshaw, whose focus will be restructuring the delivery of alternative education under one umbrella with one common vision.
