Firefighters rescue a cat and dog, but one cat perished in an Westminster apartment fire

Firefighters revived a cat and a dog they rescued while searching for victims in an apartment fire on Springdale Street in Westminster yesterday afternoon, according to the OCFA.

Unfortunately, another cat did not survive. Our thoughts are with the pet’s owner during this difficult time.

Thankfully, no one was injured, and firefighters contained the fire to a single apartment — saving the rest of the building.

The cause is under investigation. Thank you to our partners at Westminster PD, Huntington Beach Fire, and Fountain Valley Fire for the assistance. See less
