A man was arrested in connection to the deadly hit-and-run in Anaheim on Saturday morning.

An officer with the Placentia Police Department observed the vehicle speeding westbound on the 91 Freeway. That vehicle turned out to be a white BMW X5 SUV that was stolen in Placentia.

A police pursuit ensued and the suspect ended up slamming into a pedestrian in her 40’s in Anaheim, at around 1:15 a.m. The pedestrian later died at a hospital. The suspect then crashed the vehicle into a home.

The suspect got out of the damaged vehicle and then took off on foot.

Police officers from the Placentia, Anaheim and Fullerton police departments set up a perimeter, and then conducted a search for the suspect but could not find him.

Eventually the suspect was arrested at a local church.

The victim, a woman in her 40’s, died at the hospital.

The police have not released the identity of the woman or the suspect.
