A male adult pedestrian has died after being struck by a hit and run vehicle, according to the Orange Police Department.

Yesterday, at approximately 3:41 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 2700 block of N. Tustin Street reference a pedestrian down in the roadway.

The officers located the adult male in the number three lane of southbound Tustin.  The male displayed signs of trauma which were consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

The Orange City Fire Department responded and pronounced the male deceased.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene prior to the arrival of the police officers.  

The Orange Police Department Traffic Unit assumed the investigation.  

Southbound traffic on Tustin Street was closed for approximately six hours while investigators processed the scene.
