COSTA MESA, Calif. (Feb. 16, 2024) – Today, February 16, 2024, at approximately 6:10 a.m., police officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Pinecreek Drive., according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.

CMPD officers and the Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue Department arrived at the scene and found an adult female pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics immediately began lifesaving measures before she was transported to a nearby trauma hospital for treatment. Sadly, Dolores Pliego, 61, Costa Mesa, succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Her next of kin was notified.

The Traffic Safety Bureau’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating this incident. The driver remained and the scene and cooperated with officers. No arrest was made and speed was not a factor in the collision.
