On Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 2:40 AM, Santa Ana Police Communications received a report of a shooting victim down at Warren/Lyon Street, a residential neighborhood just south of the Santa Ana Zoo.
Officers responded and located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Officers rendered medical aid until the arrival of the Orange County Fire Authority. Medics transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The circumstances surrounding this homicide appear to be gang related. The Orange County Coroner’s Division has identified the victim as Abelino Vigueras (25) of Santa Ana.
Detectives are attempting to identify and locate any witnesses who can shed light on this incident.
