32 drivers were cited after a surprise vehicle safety checkpoint in Fullerton

This past Tuesday, the Fullerton Police Traffic Bureau conducted a Commercial Enforcement Task Force/Checkpoint operation in the area of Orangethorpe and S. State College.

Officers from eight jurisdictions throughout Southern California inspected commercial vehicles for compliance with the California Vehicle Code, Title 13 California Code of Regulations, and Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations.

The following agencies participated in the operation: Fullerton PD, California Highway Patrol, Irvine Police Department, Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Beaumont Police Department – Beaumont, CA, Rialto Police Department, Pomona Police Department, City of Chino Police Department and San Bernardino Police Department.

In total, 59 vehicles were inspected, and 32 citations were issued for various commercial violations related to tires, brakes, lighting, load securement, and not having a valid driver’s license.
