Yesterday afternoon, OCFA firefighters responded to a 2-alarm fire involving a row of single-story apartment units in Santa Ana at a single-story apartment building in the 2700 block of North Bristol Street, near Memory Lane.
Crews arrived to find heavy fire in a middle unit, rapidly spreading to neighboring homes.
Using a coordinated interior attack and vertical ventilation, firefighters quickly worked to stop the fire’s progress, including flames that had spread into the attic space. Their efforts prevented the fire from reaching adjacent structures.
In addition to fire suppression, crews were able to salvage many personal belongings for multiple families. Thankfully, there were no injuries; however, 14 residents were displaced due to the damage.

The Barron Family, which was displaced by the fire, set up a GoFundMe page. A fire broke out in the apartment next door to theirs, and while the flames didn’t directly consume their home, the damage was still catastrophic. The fire caused their ceiling to collapse, and everything inside their apartment was destroyed. Their furniture, clothing, electronics, personal items, and cherished keepsakes were all soaked beyond repair.
