On Saturday morning, at 4:18 a.m., a Fountain Valley Police Department (FVPD) Sergeant was on patrol and observed a suspicious silver Honda in the area of Slater and Ward.

The Honda was double parked next to another silver Honda. The second Honda was up on blocks. The Sergeant suspected there was criminal activity occurring and attempted to stop the initial Honda at Ward and Ellis.

A high-speed vehicle pursuit ensued going through Santa Ana, Tustin, and Irvine. The pursuit terminated in Santa Ana and both suspects fled on foot. They were taken into custody with the assistance of @santaana_pd

The driver, 28 year old Savady Rith of San Bernardino, was arrested and booked on charges of felony evasion, grand theft, conspiracy, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, and possession of burglary tools.

The passenger, 23 year old Robert Lopez of Hesperia, was arrested and booked on charges of grand theft, resisting arrest, conspiracy, possession of stolen property, and possession of burglary tools.

Both suspects were in the process of stripping parts off the Honda when they were observed by the Sergeant. There were no injuries or collisions during the pursuit.

Kudos to our folks for their vigilance during those early morning hours. Also, thanks to @santaana_pd for the assist!
