The SAUSD posted sixteen minutes ago on Facebook that they are “aware of a threat posted on social media involving our District “and they are “collaborating with Santa Ana School Police Department and other local agencies to investigate out of an abundance of caution.”

The SAUSD noted that there is no indication that there is any immediate safety concern for students and staff at their school sites.

The SAUSD School Police will remain on heightened alert as we continue to assess this situation.

There are several SAUSD Trustees who have been advocating to get rid of the School Police and Resource Officers.

UPDATE:

The SAPD posted this response on Facebook an hour ago: WE HAVE RECEIVED INFORMATION REGARDING A SOCIAL MEDIA POST MAKING THREATS TO AN UNDISCLOSED SCHOOL IN OUR CITY. AS WITH ANY THREAT TO OUR COMMUNITY, WE ARE TAKING THIS THREAT SERIOUSLY AND ADDITIONAL RESOURCES ARE IN PLACE TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION. WE ARE COORDINATING WITH OCIAC AND SAUSD FOR INTELLIGENCE ASSESSMENT, MITIGATION AND JOINT RESPONSE.
