The National Menopause Show is starting tomorrow at the Anaheim Convention Center. It is set for Oct. 4–5, and this is the first event of its kind in the U.S.
If you are already suffering through menopause then you really should not miss this event. This will be your opportunity to hear from experts about how to deal with every phase—perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause.
The event promoters are offering our readers a 20% discount off tickets if you use the code MENOPAUSE20!. You may buy your tickets here.
We had the opportunity today to interview Dr. LaKeischa Webb McMillan, who will be participating in the Main Program on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 10:30 a.m. Dr. McMillan studied locally at Loma Linda University. She is known nationally as the International Menopause Whisperer ™ and is an Amazon Best Selling Author. She also publishes The Hormone Hottie Online ™.
She mentioned when we spoke today that part of the problem with treating menopause in the U.S. stems from a study that came out in 2002 that led doctors to refrain from prescribing hormone treatments to women suffering from menopause. The result was catastrophic as millions of women were unable to curtail the affects of menopause. Today doctors do prescribe both oral doses and patches that supply needed hormones to women dealing with menopause.
Dr. McMillan also said that menopause symptoms can become intrusive. They can impact how women earn a living and how they get involved in society.
Dr. McMillan promised that this event is different from what a lot of folks would expect as they will have access to live experts and there will be booths to learn about new products and test them out. There will also be advocates for everyday women who are tackling the science and the culture. There will be no fear mongeringand the atmosphere will be one of empowerment.
