A unidentified man suspected to be armed refused to come out of a home, at the 11200 block of Trask Avenue, in Garden Grove, this morning after Santa Ana police attempted to serve a felony warrant, prompting a standoff, according to the O.C. Register.

Santa Ana SWAT officials were trying to serve a bench warrant to the suspect but he barricaded himself inside the home and refused to cooperate – probably not a great idea on his part.

The police intended to arrest the man on charges including suspicion of burglary and identity theft crimes, in Santa Ana.

Police authorities ended up speaking with a woman, on a phone, who said that she was with the suspect in the home’s garage, at around 1:20 p.m.

The police were told by neighbors that the suspect had guns, so the police officers proceeded with extreme caution.

The police closed Trask Avenue between Havenwood Avenue and Newhope Street during the standoff.
