ANAHEIM, Calif. (January 23, 2024) – Police Detectives arrested Kien Do, a 54-year-old Santa Ana man, for a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that occurred on January 5, 2024, according to the Anaheim Police Department.

On Friday, January 5, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., Anaheim Police Officers responded to the 1800 block of S. Harbor Blvd. regarding the reports of two (2) hit-and-run traffic collisions. Upon Officers’ arrival, they located a gravely injured woman, 75-year-old Judith Stanford, at the intersection of Harbor Blvd. and Convention Wy. Officers rendered medical aid until Anaheim Fire & Rescue personnel arrived. Stanford was transported to a local hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.

Officers determined the same vehicle struck three (3) people as they crossed the intersection of Harbor Blvd. and Katella Ave. before the fatal collision that occurred at Harbor Blvd and Convention Wy. One of the three pedestrians suffered minor-to-moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Over the course of 12 days, Traffic Detectives investigated the incident and identified Kien Do as the driver. On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, Anaheim PD Investigators arrested Do in the City of Stanton without incident. Do was booked into the Anaheim Detention Facility for vehicle manslaughter, hit and run causing injury, and other offenses.

On January 19, 2024, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office filed several charges against Do, including PC 192(c)(1) – Vehicle Manslaughter with Gross Negligence, PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon, VC 20001(a) – Hit and Run with Injury. Do is being held without bail.
