Anthony Chavoya recently made his pro debut vs LA Galaxy Two (now Ventura County FC)/MLS Next Pro, in the US Open Cup. Chavoya is the first member of his family to have played in a professional soccer match.

This game counted as Chavoya’s pro debut because the tournament was a pro tournament that was opened to amateurs as well. The opposing team was a pro team that plays in the MLS Next Pro League, which is the league right below the MLS with features well known teams such as the LA Galaxy and LAFC.

Chavoya currently resides in Fullerton. He was born in Irvine to his parents Joe Chavoya and Mary Martinez. His grandparents are from Santa Ana. Chavaoya attended and graduated from Valencia High School in Placentia, California, as part of the class of 2021, according to Wikipedia.

Chavoya has played for Whittier College and the Zeta FC in Irvine, California. He also played locally with youth teams Chelsea SC, AC Brea, Stirkers USSDA, FC Golden State NPL, and Laguna United.
