On July 12th, 2023, at approximately 10:43 p.m., patrol officers responded to a local hospital regarding a report of a man (51-years-old) who had arrived at the emergency room with stab wounds to his abdomen, according to the SAPD.

The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased the following morning.

Based on investigative leads, Homicide Detectives concluded that the incident was gang-related and took place near Euclid St. and McFadden Ave. in Santa Ana.

Johnny Baena, known as “Kid,” has been identified as a suspect in this homicide investigation.

A Ramey Arrest Warrant has been issued for Baena’s arrest.

  • Description: Male, Hispanic, 5’6″ tall, 140 lbs., black hair, and brown eyes.
