Community: California Public Utilities Commission to Hold Public Participation Hearings at Delhi Center on Thursday, May 18, 2017

SANTA ANA – The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is holding two Public Participation Hearings (PPHs) at Delhi Center on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., to receive comments from the public about Southern California Edison Company’s (SCE’s) request to increase rates and revenue by $222 million by January 2018, an additional increase of $533 million in 2019, and $570 million in 2020.

Santa Ana IHOP franchisee receives Southern California Edison’s Energy Efficiency Award

José Ruiz, president of three IHOP franchises in Santa Ana, recently received Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Energy Efficiency Award at the utility’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.

The award recognizes energy efficiency champions that saved money while implementing products that save energy and money for their business. At the event Pedro Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International, and R.O. Nichols, president of SCE, joined in to congratulate Ruiz during the ceremony. Continue reading→

Community Alert: High wind warning in effect through Thursday, contact Public Works to report windstorm related service requests

The City of Santa Ana has experienced high winds with gusts reaching between 40-60 MPH since Tuesday, April 29, 2014, with a high wind warning in effect through Thursday evening. Since Tuesday, City of Santa Ana Public Works Staff have been continuously taking action to address the high volume of public service requests ranging from tree limbs and debris on roadways to providing traffic control.

Members of the public are encouraged to contact the Public Works Agency Dispatch Hotline at (714) 647-3380 to report windstorm related service requests such as but not limited to tree related debris on roadways and traffic signals not functioning. The Public Works Agency appreciates the public’s patience while they attentively provide service response and will continue to work through the week to address the hundred’s of service requests. SANTA ANA, CA (September 13, 2013) – SCE announces it will soon be performing maintenance on the electrical system in the area. In order to perform this work safely, SCE must temporarily interrupt electric service and turn off power. This outage will allow them to upgrade aging infrastructure, make needed improvements, and complete other repairs. SCE realizes this temporary service interruption may cause some inconvenience, and they appreciate your understanding as they work to increase system reliability for the future.

Santa Ana Police Department Citizen Advisory: SAPD and Southern California Edison advise of New Payment Scam Targets Southern California Edison Customers

March 6, 2013 — Santa Ana Police Department and Southern California Edison (SCE) is advising customers to be aware of a new telephone scam that is demanding immediate payment for alleged past due electricity bills. Imposters have been calling SCE customers telling them they must make immediate payment on past due bills or have their electric service disconnected. The callers are also demanding that payment be made through a prepaid cash card, such as a PayPal or Green Dot card. Continue reading→

Advisory: Southern California Edison Urges Customers to Conserve as High Temperatures are Forecast in the Region

SANTA ANA, CA (August 7, 2012) – With high temperatures forecast in many parts of Southern California today and throughout the week, Southern California Edison (SCE) is urging customers to conserve power.

SCE anticipates having sufficient resources to meet forecast electricity demand. But with energy use rising during extreme heat conditions, conservation can provide an added reserve should an unexpected power emergency occur, such as mechanical problems affecting a major power plant or wildfires shutting down a major transmission system. Conservation also helps minimize the impact on the distribution system when customers use energy around-the-clock. Continue reading→

Advisory: SCE ANNOUNCES POWER LINE DOWN IN SANTA ANA

SANTA ANA, CA (June 8, 2012) – SCE notified the City of Santa Ana that there is a power line down in the area of Borchard and Sycamore. Approximately 500 customers are affected and SCE repair crews are on scene. Street lights will be out in Wilshire Square neighborhood, which is situated south of McFadden, north of Edinger, between Sycamore and Ross Streets. We are honored that the Saddleback division of Southern California Edison will have a fundraiser for us on September 17th. They have been raising money during the year and on the 17th will be having a Golf Tournament and an Opportunity Drawing – which the OC Youth Commission will be the beneficiary.

The Opportunity Drawing is for a Beautiful Lithograph Painting done by the famous Wyland ! Attached you will find a photo of the painting and the information on how to buy tickets! This Beautiful Autographed Lithograph is worth $1,000.
