A Protest against War in Syria has been set for this Sunday, September 1, 2013, at 11 am, at Pearson Park, in Anaheim.
THE PLAN: We will meet up at 11am at Pearson Park, by the gazebo on the Harbor/Sycamore side. Make signs.
Then we will march to Lincoln and Harbor.
Any sign making materials you can bring would be helpful markers, spray paint, cardboard etc.
INTENT:
We are non-violently protesting the escalation of US military involvement in Syria, as well as the complete disregard of the will of the American people in the decision to begin a new war. We in no way support the actions of the Assad regime, but are concerned that US intervention will instigate more violence and suffering.
REACH OUT:
Please invite as many people as possible, even if you can’t join us on Sunday. Email/call student organizations, activist groups, newspapers, radio stations, university professors, politicians, and anyone else who could bring more attention to the cause.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS:If you guys have cardboard boxes or can get any, bring them!
Any sign making materials you can bring would be helpful markers, spray paint, cardboard etc.
SOLIDARITY IN PEACE:
If you can, please make and bring peaceful (non-hateful) signs and posters to demonstrate your point of view. NO weapons, drugs, or open containers are permitted. This is a family friendly nonviolent event so be respectful. It could get a little hot so bring water and snacks!
