Aria Alexandra Martin, a 33-year-old Orange County woman, was charged on Tuesday after she flipped out while behind the wheel in a parking lot in Mission Viejo and crashed into multiple cars, nearly hit several pedestrians and then fled from the responding O.C. Sheriff Deputies when they attempted to stop her last week.

Martin is facing five felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon and 13 felony counts of vandalism. She was also charged with misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of a drug and resisting arrest.

During her arraignment on Tuesday, Martin pleaded not guilty. She is due back in court on Feb. 23 for a pretrial hearing. She is being held on $60,000 bail.

The parking lot incident happened on Feb. 9. Martin was caught on camera as she rammed several parked cars and refused to stop despite desperate pleas from witnesses. She then fled from the area and was was eventually pulled over on the freeway just south of Oso Parkway in Mission Viejo, by the CHP.

Martin refused to comply with the responding O.C. Sheriff’s deputies which forced them to to close down that side of the freeway for the afternoon, snarling traffic and creating headaches for commuters. She was eventually taken into custody.
