UPDATE: (December 11, 2025) — Santa Ana Police Detectives have arrested Diego Sartori, a 35-year-old Anaheim man, for a fatal stabbing of a man in the drive-through of a Pollo Campero restaurant.

On Saturday, December 6, 2025, at approximately 4:36 p.m., Santa Ana Police officers responded to the drive-thru of Pollo Campero, located at 2320 S. Bristol Street, after receiving a report of a man down and bleeding.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, later identified as Christopher Abrego (43) of Bakersfield, suffering from multiple stab wounds to his body. Orange County Fire Authority also responded and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

UPDATE:

Homicide Detectives prompted an investigation following the incident and identified Diego Sartori (35) of Anaheim as the suspect. With assistance from our AB-109 officers, Sartori was located at a motel in the City of Costa Mesa and taken into custody yesterday, December 11, 2025. The investigation revealed that Sartori and the victim, Abrego, were involved in an altercation before the victim was stabbed and killed. Sartori was subsequently booked at the Santa Ana Jail for Penal Code §187(a).
