In partnership with Northgate Market, Susan G. Komen Orange County is promoting breast health amongst the Latina community throughout the months of April and May. Komen Orange County will first provide sign-ups for free on-site mammography in each city, followed by on-site mammography screenings to eligible individuals at Northgate Markets in La Habra, Santa Ana and Anaheim/Buena Park.
Latina women are more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer at a later stage and are therefore at increased risk of dying from the disease. Regular mammography screening, beginning at age 40, is the best tool for detecting breast cancer early.
- WHAT: “FOR YOU, FOR THEM. GET A MAMMOGRAM.”, “Por tí, por ellos. Hazte una mamografía.”
Eligible women have the opportunity to sign up for free clinical breast exams and screening mammograms through a partnership between Komen Orange County, Northgate Market and YWCA North Orange County
