The secured OC Property Tax second installment deadline is this Thursday April 10

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Orange County Treasurer-Tax Collector Shari Freidenrich is issuing a final reminder to property owners to act now and avoid late penalties. The last day to pay the first installment of FY 2025-26 secured property taxes without incurring a 10% late penalty is December 10, 2025. Taxpayers are encouraged to pay securely online by eCheck (no service fee)at TaxBill.octreasurer.gov

The Treasurer-Tax Collector is advising taxpayers to pay securely online. “This is your last chance to pay timely,” said Shari Freidenrich. “We strongly recommend taxpayers use our secure online eCheck (no service fee) payment option to avoid penalties and protect against postal delays and mail fraud,” she added. Online payments at TaxBill.octreasurer.gov receive same-day credit and an emailed/printable receipt.

To view, print, and pay your tax bill, or to check your parcel payment status if you’ve recently mailed a check, please scan the QR code on your property tax bill, or visit TaxBill.octreasurer.gov and input your Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN), or street address to access your specific parcel page.  On your parcel page, two years of payment history and 16 years of property tax bills are available. Click the link on your parcel page to view printable online statement to check for receipt of your recent property tax payment.

YOUR PAYMENT OPTIONS

A complete list of payment options follows:

1.       ONLINE PAYMENT: TaxBill.octreasurer.gov

Same-day credit, printable and emailed receipt; pay online by midnight.

  1. eCheck – Recommended (No service fee)
  2. Credit/Debit Card – service fee applies

2.       MAILED PAYMENT: Not recommended due to mail fraud risk and postal delays.

  1. Mailed payments received without a USPS postmark of Dec. 10 or earlier will incur a 10% penalty. (We recommend getting a hand-cancelled USPS postmark if mailing a payment at this late date). 
  2. Mailed payments may take up to 5 business days to process once received by our office.

3.       IN-PERSON PAYMENT:

  1. County Service Center, 601 N. Ross St., open Mon.– Fri, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., 30-minute free parking in lot P4, (view map octreasurer.gov/octaxparking). Avoid last-minute visits, due to possible increased waiting times.
  2. Payment Depository Box – Available at 601 N. Ross St. (Deposit by midnight. Never leave cash in the depository box).
